Ok, I'm back from my blog break... but I wasn't able to stay away from this blog completely as I had planned. :) Aaaah... no wonder some bloggers find the whole blogging thing addicting. Balance is the key. I've a number of ideas for posts on this blog but my 1 major excuse... I simply get lazy these days when I have to write. Discipline, discipline, discipline in time management and in your flesh... Akofa! Nobody needs to tell me this. I tell it to myself! :)
Stephanie of Thirsty Soul tagged me to share 6 things I've learnt this year. I'll play along. I think the tagging game is fun.
I've learnt many things and I'm relearning some 'cos as with human nature, the lessons evaporate so quickly from my brain!
They are not in order of importance or neither are they in chronological order. Lets' see....
1. Being humble and teachable works. Humility is not as a result of somebody forcing me to do something because he/she is older than me or has some authority over me. But knowing who I am and choosing to submit to the person out of reverence for Christ, Ephesians 5:21. Jesus knew who He was and the authority He had, yet He chose to kneel down and wash His disciples' feet, John 13: 3-5. If the Son humbled Himself even to death on the cross, how much more me?
2. I'm still learning that I'll always have to wait for something. Yeah? In all these years how come this one lesson escapes you, Akofa? It's so obvious! Yeah, yeah, yeah... did I not tell earlier you that I forget so quickly? Waiting on and for God is not always easy but He promises to act on my behalf if I wait on Him. Neither does He disappoint.
3. My trust, hope and faith in God will always be tested, because there will always be situations that will potentially cause me to loose focus or ask questions. But I can continually choose to trust God as I lay those recurring questions at His feet and enter His rest knowing that the issue is fully settled in Christ.
4. Like Stephanie, I'm relearning the sovereignty of God. It's like asking God why he chose Jacob instead of Esau. I simply cannot fathom His thoughts and ways. This post and this one best express some of my thoughts on God's sovereignty.
5. God is my Deliverer and He will deliver me again. I'll have put a post up explaining how this has been true in my life someday soon.
6. The importance of the the local church and the diversity of gifts God bestows on us so that we can compliment and serve one another and glorify His Name together.
I'm not sure who might be interested in this fun game... so I'll tag Taffy, for now. U're welcome to join the fun if you want to.

I'm so glad you participated, Akofa! I love hearing about the ways God is teaching and working in other's lives. I really identify with #2...waiting. The verses you linked are both highlighted in my Bible...I continually need to come back to those truths! Hope you're having a great week. God bless!
